Bill Gates and Jim Mark Andreessen's Speed Strategy in the IPO

The first Microsoft web browser, which would eventually be called Internet Explorer was released on August 16th 1995. The corporate battle that would become known as the browser wars was joined exactly one week to the day after Netscape's IPO. Jim Clark likened Bill Gates to the evil Lord Sauron from Lord of the Rings quote,. who's all seeing eyes searched ceaselessly for any threat to his tyranny. By early 1996, Clark was holding meetings, beginning the process of forming his new startup, which would initially be called HealthScape and it is today known as WebMD.
