Rainmakers Never Produce Results
Rainmaking equipment was exhibited in 1893 at the Chicago World's Fair. The most famous of these was the Interstate Artificial Rain Company, founded in 1892. These weren't companies with multiple employees and teams that would go around to make rain. And like the solo operators, the companies also had mixed success. Sometimes they would make it rain and the customers would be happy. But not if the rainmakers never produce results.
