Is Horror Changing Over Time?
Horror is one of the best ways to feel empathy towards, you know, another person or another group of people. It's so instinctive. Because like it is so often dismissed as just being about bloodletting and exploitation. But I think that there is so much compassion and empathy that we're allowed through experiencing someone else's fears. When I watch horror, I think about Roger Ebert's quote of movies being empathy machines.
