The Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre only intensified Adams' conspiracy theory. News reports from that time are really exaggerated and the language used is straight out of Sam Adams' playbook. In 1769, less than a year before the Boston Massacre, British officials were planning to withdraw troops from the area. It just kind of fed back into itself and kept growing.
