How to Contact a Gallery
I think that in the gallery world, they don't like it if you stop in with your portfolio. And galleries usually post admission guidelines on their website. Some will accept a link to your website in an email as a submission. Others want you to mail them a portfolio that's printed out or on CD. You kind of have to go and dig in on the websites in order to find out how each gallery wants to receive it.
