According to ancient Chinese legend, there was this ferocious monster named Nyan. Every time before the New Year's Eve, villagers would just pack their bags and escape to remote mountains,. To avoid the attack from Nyan, this monster. And so it makes a lot of sense to me that there are all these myths because people love stories.
