Is There a Value Density to Gold?
Gold's utility as money is more important for a well-functioning post-substance society than its utility as a commodity. The thing about gold is it has an aspect of elements called specific gravity, which means that as you condense more weight of it, it occupies a very small volumetric space. So if you were to take a sugar cube sized of pure silver or a sugar cube size of pure gold, you would find that the gold is just heavier, even though it occupies the same volumetry space. And so what I'm trying to say is that the amount of gold that we have represents in less space than anything else.
