The Origins of the Scriptural Geologist
scriptural geologists were opposed to the long geological ages proposed by Hutton and Lyle. They felt that a very different approach to geology was required in order to take into account the reality of creation, particularly the flood. The term "tertiary" rocks is still used today for what some people call tertiary rocks.
