In 2014, only $9.3 billion was invested for climate adaptation in the developing world. The most generous nations were Turkey and Sweden, both giving more than 1% of their gross national income. In 2018 Australia's 2017 foreign aid budget represents 0.23%, a slightly higher proportion than the US at 0.8%. Just like Americans, most Australians do not support an increase in foreign aid.
