The Mandelbrot Set
negative numbers were originally used to signify debts, well before the invention of double entry accounting. In this way, zero is the medium of exchange between positive and negative domains of numbers. The next image is of the Mandelbrot set, one of the most famous examples of a fractal. It's a mind-bending mathematical structure formed with complex numbers that models the geometry of nature in its intrinsic complexity.
