The Importance of Being Purposeful
I attend a church in Macquarie Hills and they have a charity program called Our Backyard, a Carter Home Project. As part of what they did was they allow people to come in their cars and stay overnight. So I thought potentially there was a way that if our house were vacant for a couple of months because we're waiting on the bureaucracy of the NDIS to work out, that I could then use them to actually assist people who were in crisis or were living in their cars. And so we kind of started to have that discussion a few years back. We then decided to become a lot more purposeful around that in that we realised there was a bigger need than just disability.
