Is Your Team Superior to Other Teams?

In science, we're trying to pretend we're smarter or right perform better on some metric. And of course, we're also rewarded for it. So I do think it gets into the way in the way of stuff like team science,. Your team can feel superior to other teams. This is a it's a very good point. Instead of rewarding the superior individual within a group, you basically have a higher level of selection and you let departments compete. At least within the department, you get a lot more teamwork and collaboration. There's still some competition, but kind of fit of life.
