The Death Penalty Act of 1978
In 1978 the Supreme Court deems the death penalty statute unconstitutional and Chuck's death sentence is commuted to two concurrent life sentences with the possibility of parole after seven years. Arlene is set to be released in I think this is 1978 I think it's right before Christmas 78. One night she is supposed to be doing her laundry and she by the way one police captain from San Rafael didn't know she was about to get out. She leaves and flees to New York City.
