Cryo vs Contanity?

Cryo is the run time under open shift. Most of the other implementations tend to use containety, as i understand it at least. I always find it funny that in a world where we have ten different web rowses and forty different ways of editing files,. everybody wants to have a single way of running a low level container engin working underneath cubinetes. Is there a point where your swi swimming against the tide and maintaining your own thing? Or do you think having multiple implementations of the same idea can help make sure you don't have mono around one implementation?
