The Incompatibleist's Interpretation of Choices
In order for an agent to be able to act freely, it must be the case that she could act against her choices or against her best reasons. The compatibleist is saying your choices can be both determined and free. And if what you really want is the option to have done otherwise, it's going to require you to act against your reasons - which doesn't seem like a free action at all.
