The Unconformity of Uranium Deposits

US government insisted on self-sufficiency of Uranium supplies for its nuclear weapons programs. As soon as the price for Uranium fell a bit in the 80s, all those mines shut down and we've been getting Uranium from Canada ever since. Unconformity deposits are rocks that were laid down next to each other but laid down at different times. The formation where this might happen is very big - it's like finding a needle in a haystack.
