Is There a Fatalism in Politics?
I think I do think that many of our world's problems are because we cannot accept the reality of an ending or not an ending even but a major shift in the way things are. It seems to me that we cannot understand life unless we understand and at some level embrace and walk hand in hand with death any more than we can understand light if we haven't got darkness to put it next to. And for young and for deaf psychologists such as myself, the second half of life is very much about those questions. But it really does come down to this question, which each of us has to answer for ourselves - how do we live well in the face of inevitable death?
