The Truidl Horde Is an Enormous Hall of Silver Objects, Which Is Found in Cornwall and Devon
There's very little evidence that Wessex is actually able to control Cornwall. But what we do have is lots of Scandinavian evidence. These are more typically found in the north-west of Britain and Scotland. It seems more likely this may have been a raiders treasure, which he was bearing into come back for later. So potentially the Cornish were to a certain extent playing both sides.
