In 1814, Napoleon abdicates hoping that his son will be placed as successor. That's not what happens and he is exiled to the island of Elva in the Mediterranean. He then invades the Royal Navy with a thousand men on the south coast of France. This is 'Napoleon the Machiavellian again', says historian Andrew Keen.
