I Think We Need to Focus on the People That Are at Church

I think we need to focus on the people who actually are coming to church. We need to be training them up and making disciples of the people that are there. I was fascinated by the way in which some of the communities in Northeastern England were I was working. The church was to use exactly the wrong metaphor punching above its weight. There are people even who don't want to believe and who have probably been bruised by some form of Christianity they had formally embraced. That can often pave the way for somebody to return. If it has that effect, well, that's great and we should pray that it will.
