Aren't Institutionalized in Literary Criticism?
I think I'm concerned with how we see the 1960s having opened up the university, right? And certain things sort of getting institutionalized. What generally replaces a kind of deep knowledge of literary history even among young scholars is now a kind of cultural studies knowledge. There are certain kinds of institutional things that are happening that look like they advance a certain kind of inclusion,. But actually they interrupt a legitimate and informed study of the very literature that they supposedly lift up.
