The senate just passed the safer communities act. It changed the background check system for 18 to 20 year olds. But do nothing else. We don't enforce straw purchasing. The fbi almost never follows up on gun purchases that are flagged. And if people are known or seriously suspected to have lied during the process, the ment of justice does nothing. I am really reluctant to define being seen to do something as passing new measures, rather than getting serious about the ones that we have already put on the statute book.
