The Guillotine Machine

Madame la guillotine was one of the most famous characters of the french revolution. The unfortunate secretary of the paris national guard, holds the distinction of being the first political prisoner executed with the guillotine. In april 17 92, just as war fever was hitting a fever pitch, the legislative assembly took time out of its day to order a piano maker to build a prototype of guillotine's machine. Once the prototype proved effective on corpses, it was handed over to the executioners of paris. And that money is what lafayette would live on during his five years in prison.
