The Culture Wars
The culture wars may be a sloppy term, but the passion with which they are now being fought sums up the american journey. The gulf has never been wider, angrier or more uncompromising. Even the fabric of communication is tearing itself apart. Under the strain, concepts like fact and truth turned into weapons in this new civil war. So the striking down of roe versus wade does not surprise me. I simply thought that all those who opposed these things would either change their minds under the force of our arguments, or die off. That didn't happen. And i accept that baked into the very founding fabric of this extraordinary country were deep wounds and divisions that would not, it seems
