Short sellers make that they're able to see some of the errors companies are making. I don't think you need you need shorters in order to make that true a market will operate pretty efficiently if there are a reasonable number of market participants, he says. For every clever and well informed buyer of the stock there is also a clever and well-informed seller so it's not just about shorting as much as people have an interest in knowing what others know.
