The London School of Medicine for Women

The London School of Medicine for Women didn't allow vivisections, so Shartow and Lindoff-Hagabe attended demonstrations at other institutions and organizations all around London. At some point they showed their notes to Stephen Coleridge, honorary secretary of the National Anti-Vivisection Society. Bayless's attorney contacted Coleridge saying that his statements about the vivisection were untrue and after some back and forth failed to reach any kind of resolution, Bayless sued Coleridge for libel. A trial ran for four days in November of 1903. In the end, Bayless was awarded 2,000 pounds in damages. They had also published their journals
