Faraday grew up in poverty in early 1800s London. He spent less than a year in school and then ended up as a bookbinder's apprentice, the same fate as struck Benjamin Franklin. The freedom from peer pressure was certainly true of Russell. Just imagine how brilliant he would have been had he just had access to schools.
