In 18 30, at the ripe old age of 24 years old, joseph smith already had two monumental accomplishments under his new prophetic belt. He considered this translation of the bible a branch of his calling and had divine revelation authorizing him to do it. Half of our doctrine af covenant's revelations came during the time period when joseph was engaged translating the bible. Many of his doctrinea covenants revelations stemmed directly from his translated Bible.
