The Importance of Relating to Ruins

I'm really interested in how people relate to ruins and how they understand it. I got very into something that I heard Tyson and Juncker Porter say where he's like you know if we're really lucky we're in the early stages of like something that's going to take a thousand years. It says there's a role you can play in this story but in order to play that role you have to first accept that the story will be going on after you at least in this form of gone. That seems to me like a much more helpful way than to place ourselves as either the heroes or the villains for climate change.
