The tensions within this government have been evident for some time. It spanned a huge spectrum, from radical left one side to hard right on the other. And inevitably, there was legislation that mister daggey was trying to put through. So this is the coming part of a coalition that we talked about last year being quite a hard one to wrangle.
For the second time in a week, Prime Minister Mario Draghi has tendered his resignation as his motley coalition government splintered further.
