The Challenges of a Siloed System and Conflicting Incentives

Rachel Tassert: We need to begin collecting information about transplant referral and evaluation practices so that we can really better understand what is or what isn't happening with those patients who aren't on the waitlist. Dr. Michelle Lomax: I think our listeners have heard us talk a lot this morning about the challenges of a siloed system and conflicting incentives. My final word would be we need a central office of kidney health and transplant policy at KHS to help make sure the entire kidney health ecosystem is working in synergistic coordination.
