What Happened to the Belgians in Katanga?

The Congo became independent at the end of June 1960. Within a few days there was a mutiny of the army. Then the Belgians left in almost obscenely irresponsible manner. Hamisholt had guided the UN to take a role just before independence. He wanted to have a discussion with Moiz Chongbi, I think, in Katanga. But as we know, he never even had the opportunity to attend that meeting because of what happened.
