The BBC World Service
The BBC World Service began 90 years ago with only 4 staff and a budget of £10 that's $12 a week for programs. On the 19th of December 1932 working from Studio 3B inside Broadcasting House, its brand new white stone headquarters in the West End of London via new transmitters and aerials,. A global wireless service cautiously got underway. Back then radio was the newest way to communicate. The Soviet Union had done it and so had the Vatican using radio to propagate their faiths, communism and Catholicism abroad.
