Brahms's Peaksus
This is a movement where brahm's gifts as an orchestrator are really present. In the second line of text, brahms gives the tenors a long line and as an accompaniment, has the first violins float over the top of them. Hen as the upper voices come in, it is as if the violins have shown them the way,. They take over the line as it grows to its first serene climax. Peaksus by Brahm: "For my soul it longeth, yet fainteth for the courts of the lord"
