We Are Resurrections to Be Like Christ
Christ was dead for a period of time, and so we too are to be dead. We can see ourselves as participating in Christ's death. Also unlike Christ, we continue to be subject to the punishment of death. It's only when human nature is completely freed from the punishment of original sin that it will be restored in the resurrection.
