The Importance of Alsebides' Expedition Ionia
Alsebides played a key role in ensuring that the expedition went forward. He persuaded Endius and the other E-Force to send five ships under Hawchidius directly to Dionia, with himself on board. Despite all of his valuable contributions to the Spartan cause as their advisor, Alsebides began to anticipate that he would fall out of favor with the Spartan government very soon.
