The Impact That Caused the Extinction
The heat, like infa red radiation, would make it so hot that everything would catch on fire. The first thing you'd see is the heat in a matter of seconds. Then minutes later will be the ejecta falling down from the sky. An hour later would be the shock wave traveling at the speed of sound rather than the speed of light. This all makes me think that like mans in the middle ages, who were very scared of comets, were on to something like it wasas something of a well founded concern.
