Coaches get too much credit when we win, and they get probably too much blame when we lose games. You don't suddenly turn an extrinsically motivated kid into an intrinsically motivated one. I think it's far more important to evaluaten and identify then there are times where you see a kid who's really talented but maybe maybe he doesn't love it as much. Extrinsic motivators work. But in terms of building a team, it's pretty tough to be great if most of your guys don't want to do it. The two things i tell em, if you forget every play, every defensive scheme we have, value the ball, value your team mates.
