The Choice of the Twelve
In the latter half of Mark chapter 3, the company of disciples around Jesus starts to assume a greater prominence in the narrative. They've been present to this point, but now they are more directly considered. The account of the choice of the twelve has some particular details that aren't found in either Luke or in Matthew. It begins with Jesus going up on the mountain and calling to him a selection of the disciples.
