What Was Your First Big Success as a Young Chess Player?

When i was nine, i won the illinois third grade state championship. And i really liked collecting chess trophies. A soigot a trophy that was like almost as tall as me and maybe you can relate to this. The social component is just more of a draw for me these days than actually trying to attain the grand master's title or am competing at he high level.
