Music Can Express Conflicts
Dylan: Music can represent something that you can't do linguistically, because she talks about if you summarize and reword a poem, it no longer is what it was. If you know the flight of the Bumblebee, you go, oh, yeah, and you can immediately make that connection to music. But that's not something that you could put into language in a way that would be adequate to what the music does. Mark: Like when we say it's bittersweet, or how you can grieve and be happy in your grieving with others who are grieving? There are complicated, contradictory emotions that you can feel simultaneously. And words are not capable of representing that state.
