Data Efficient Rainbow: A New Algorithm for Data Efficiency
The original DQN is essentially the standard DQN even today. Data Efficient Rainbow or Efficient Rainbow came out of a paper titled Nothing to Do with the Algorithm. The algorithm was basically, what if we were to just tweak Rainbow's hyperparameters a little bit and train it harder? It could get competitive performance in these very small data regimes,. Atari 100K had just been proposed by a model-based RL paper a few months before this one came out.
