What Are the Long Term Effects of Breathing Through Your Mouth?

Breathing is a subconscious process. It's not really amenable long term interventions. And so for any of this stuff, it's very, very difficult to establish causation. Some areas of research where there are some negative effects that are associated with predominantly breathing through the mouth verses the nose. People who are behind in school tend to breathe through their mouth at a slightly higher rate than people who aren't. But i personally think that it's either mere association or potentially even reverse causation.
