Robert Bigelow bought the property from a couple that had been there for decades. He started an organization called NIDS, which was later replaced by B-A-A-S-S in 2004. The Defense Intelligence Agency met with Senator Harry Reid after visiting the ranch and created a program to study UFOs. In 2008 through 2011, this is where it all kind of marries together, where the government issued Bigelow Aerospace a $22 million contract around that program that studies UFOs.
