The History of Lego Mindsorms
Seymour Pappert wrote a book called Mindsorm about teaching kids to build with Lego blocks. The idea was that you could teach an MIT geometry class using it and so they started using Lego blocks to build things. In the 1950s, Fred Brooks took a summer job at IBM working on their mainframe software for the 704 computer. He learned how to program by playing with his Commodore 64 as a child. Now he's helping young people learn programming through self-directed projects like drawing triangles in school.
