Sarry wilson and her family set off on a journey to california. While driving they were stopped by police for an agri agricultural inspection. Grandma was so sick that she had to be taken to hospital, but told them it was because she didn't want officers stopping them in the desert where other people could get ill. They made it to California before grandma died of natural causes. The story is based on real-life events between sarry's husband and his wife during their trip across the U.S.
