Is There Any Idea on How to Detect Theorized Tachyon Particle?

In the frontier of science, is there any idea on how to try and detect the theorized Tachyon particle? So... Remind us what Tachyon is, Brian. And do you have a particle that can go faster than the speed of light? How would you ever detect these things? It's actually not that hard. You start with a particle at one location and you fire it into space. But in principle ... somebody gets a cockamamie observation which would later be shown to be wrong. That was the key tip off immediately that nothing gets too far away from reality.
