Ritei: In bolivia you see mass indigenous movements, but emerging often in the form of militant labor movements. Ritei: The history of the indigenous movement is actually more closely tied to that of various types of labor union. And then you had the emergence, later on, with many of those miners who had been laid off when the state-owned wine company was privatized in 19 85. They replicated their really militant, a somewhat hierarchical, kind of very politically and economically effective union formation in cocoa growing sector.
