The Difference Between Delusions and Conspiracy Theories
The key difference between delusions and conspiracy theories is that delusions are, by a definition, false and not shared by others. People who believe in conspiracies aren't usually so much theorizing or coming up with explanations on their own as are hearing them from other people,. And then they get behind them, almost like our religion. Survey consistently show that about 50 % of the american public believes in at least one conspiracy theory.
