Is This Transition Happening Too Fast?
The amount of so called base load energy available in the electricity networks around the world will soon become, if it is not already, too limited to actually keep the lights on. Some argue that this transition is happening too fast and some seem to be arguing it need not happen at all. But we can aim for the decommissioning of all coal fired power stations by 20 30 because by then we will have the technology available to take up the short fall. All we need is a policy change, and then solar panels put on roof tops everywhere will do the job that coal presently does.
